Classroom Guidelines
• Your principal will guide you regarding the earliest you may arrive at work and the latest you may stay at work. Arriving too early or staying too late may trigger the school’s burglar alarm.• Any classroom decorations must be placed at least 2 feet from the ceiling and paper items placed on the wall must be bound on all four edges.• Any furniture or curtains brought in must be fire-proofed prior to bringing to the school site.• Appliances such as heaters, refrigerators, and other electrical appliances from home are discouraged.• Cooling and heating in the classrooms is shut off every afternoon by 5:00 PM.Accepting cash
The term cash includes currency, coin, checks, and money orders. Cash received directly by you may include field trip fees, extracurricular fees, yearbook fees, athletic participation fees, etc.All monies collected shall be receipted, accounted for, and directed without delay to the proper location of deposit. In no case shall money be left overnight in school buildings, except in safes provided for safekeeping of valuables. Monies shall be secured in a locked cash box or locked filing cabinet until the funds are taken to the front office at the end of the day. Monies must be turned into the front office daily in order to meet governing board policy.• Cash must be deposited intact – meaning no deviation from the original amount collected.• No money shall be left in desks, unlocked file cabinets, etc.• Support to reconcile recorded sales to the actual cash collected should be maintained.• Monies collected should be documented using items such as tickets, pre-numbered cash receipts, class roster, or class list, or a count of items on hand before and after a sale.Social Services for your studentsPlease visit the Social Services department website for details. The type of services provided to students and families include:
Alcohol, drug, violence/bullying prevention and early intervention programs through evidence-based programs for students and families;Psycho-educational and social skills groups for life skill, behavior management, grief and/or other family challenges;Short term individual or group counseling, when the need is indicated;Parent education classes and informational sessions;When available, provision of basic need resources such as clothing, school supplies and food boxes OR referrals to local or community agencies;Coordination and referral for additional community resources, when indicated;Professional development for staff to assist in providing a safe and open learning environment for students to prosper; andHomeless/highly mobile student coordination and support through the McKinney-Vento Act.· CPS Reporting

Benefits
New employees who are eligible for benefits will receive an enrollment packet when completing new hire paperwork. Enrollment forms are due within 31 days of your hire date.Eligible District employees are:- Classified employees regularly scheduled to work 30 hours or more each week or 0.75 FTE or greater
- Administrators and certified employees with contracts for 0.75 or greater. Those who have contracts of at least 0.5 FTE but less than 0.75 FTE will be eligible for health insurance coverage with the District paying for a percentage of the premium cost equal to the employee's FTE and the employee paying the balance of the premium cost.

All noncontracted regular personnel begin employment with a probationary period of 90 calendar days, designed to determine if the hire meets the expectations of both the new employee and the employer. During this time, new employees are eligible for leave accruals, holiday pay and health benefits (under the schedule outlined here). Supervisors may request an extension of a probation, otherwise a new employee is successfully removed from a probationary period if the employee performs and behaves satisfactorily.EvaluationsThe employee evaluation process is completed annually every spring in the TalentEd system. As the first step in the process, classified employees are required to complete a self-analysis, designed to obtain the employee’s perspective of his or her performance and behaviors, accomplishments, development opportunities, etc. The supervisors will the complete the evaluation form, which will shared in person with the employee. District employees are eligible to purchase lunches in the school cafeteria. Only cash is accepted at the point-of-sale, however a prepaid account may be created Online and funded with a credit card. This is done at www.mylunchmoney.com. When asked for a "student ID", enter your employee ID number.
