    In response to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)’s newly modified COVID-19 guidelines, the WESD has updated its processes to reflect these recommendations. As of September 9, 2022, the WESD is no longer tracking COVID-19 cases or contact tracing. Additionally, the District is not sending letters to parents and guardians to notify them if their child was in general or close contact with a positive COVID-19 case. However, the WESD is still focusing on general infection control by:

    • Using air scrubbers to improve air quality;
    • Performing daily cleaning and sanitizing;
    • Encouraging handwashing, covering coughs and sneezes, as well as vaccines; and
    • Recommending students who are sick or exhibiting symptoms of respiratory infection stay home.
