Instructional assistants work directly with children. Some help the teacher in the classroom and work with the children who need one-on-one attention. Others assist in computer labs. They make sure students get help when they need it. They support and enhance the work of teachers in all components of the education process, making them key members of the teaching team. - Completion of 60 college credit hours, an Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university, or evidence they have successfully passed a Arizona State-approved paraprofessional test (may be administered by the WESD).
