KidSpace Extended Day Care programs are on 23 school campuses in the WESD. KidSpace is a before- and after-school program that provides high quality, school-age care while supplementing learning. The program is developmentally appropriate for students in preschool through sixth grade and is supported by the community through tuition paid by parents, subsidies from government agencies such as DES and grants.

The KidSpace school sites operate under specific health and safety regulations by the Arizona Department of Health Services. Rates and registration forms are available at your child's school office or by calling 602-896-6968.

The 21st Century Community Learning Centers grant has served more than 4,000 students annually over the past 18 years. This project affords WESD students and their families the opportunity to participate in no-cost activities and programs that extend their learning beyond the school day hours.

The grant's primary objective is to provide academic interventions in the areas of reading and math to targeted students in need of the intervention. Additionally, the 21st Century Community Learning Centers offer students a broad array of additional services, programs, and activities, such as youth development activities, drug and violence prevention programs, counseling programs, art, music, and recreation programs, technology education programs, and character education programs, that are designed to reinforce and complement the regular academic program of participating students.
