Active COVID-19 Cases - Starting Monday, August 9
This dashboard provides WESD families, staff and community a summary of positive COVID-19 cases by school/location. Cases recorded on the dashboard indicate that an individual on campus has tested positive for COVID-19. Once the individual is cleared to return, the case is moved to the recovered column. This data will be updated every Friday.

*The school location labeled "Other" denotes an individual who visits multiple school sites. If there is a positive COVID case in this category, each community that is impacted will be notified.
Students and staff who have had close contact with an individual who tested positive for COVID-19 will receive notification with direction, which could include direction to quarantine.
For this purpose, Maricopa County Department of Public Health (MCDPH) defines close contact as being within 6 feet of the COVID-19 positive individual for a cumulative total of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period starting from two days before illness onset (or, for asymptomatic patients, two days prior to test specimen collection) until the time the patient is isolated.
Students and staff who have not had close contact with an individual who tested positive for COVID-19 will not receive notification. However, the District will update the active case list per location as shown above.
The District is required to report all student and staff positive cases to MCDPH. MCDPH determines whether or not there is an outbreak. A school outbreak of COVID-19 is defined as:
- Two or more students or staff who have tested positive for COVID-19 within a 14-day period; and
- Could have had some close contact such as in a classroom or on a school sports team;
- Do not live in the same household; and
- Were not identified as close contacts of each other in another setting during a Public Health case investigation (e.g. friends who play together in each other’s homes).
If there is an outbreak, the District will comply with the directions provided by MCDPH.
