About Alta Vista

Alta Vista Elementary provides a well-rounded, student-centered education. We offer a strong academic program that addresses individual needs and learning styles. We offer numerous support services including social work services, special education resource and speech and gifted programs (off campus) as well as technology, art, music and PE for all grade levels. Many enrichment opportunities are available for students including extracurricular activities, honors field trips, health awareness and character education programs, after-school sports, and an after-school learning academy.

Governing Board Approves Resolution Recognizing and Affirming LGBTQ+ Students and Staff
The Washington Elementary School District (the WESD) is committed to a learning environment that is physically, socially and emotionally safe for all students. As a part of this commitment, the WESD affirms, supports and values all students and staff and will continue to further efforts in our schools to create a welcoming, safe and inclusive learning environment for our transgender, non-binary and all LGBTQ+ students and staff.

WESD to Provide Free Breakfast and Lunch Meals for the 2022-2023 School Year
WESD is proud to share that breakfast and lunch meals will be provided at no cost to all students throughout the 2022-2023 school year!
