Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year! To those returning, welcome back! To those who are new, we welcome you with open arms to Chaparral Elementary. My name is Molly Boyer, proud principal of Chaparral. I have worked in the Washington Elementary School District for over a decade and will continue in my third year as Chaparral principal, continuing to lead the next generation of scholars. Our professional learning community is ready to implement best practices to achieve positive student outcomes with both academics and behavior to ensure continued success and growth. Our mission and vision stated below will drive our work together.
Mission: The mission of Chaparral Elementary School is high achievement of all students. All Chaparral students will perform with high standards of POSITIVE BEHAVIOR through their respect, responsibility, and productivity.
Vision: Chaparral strives to create high levels of learning in a welcoming, collaborative environment that prepares ALL students for our rapidly changing world.
Over the course of my time at Chaparral, I’ve observed so many beautiful things including all our students flourishing in their individualized goals, our teachers providing quality instruction day in and day out, our staff building positive relationships with not only the students, but the families and community members also, our parents and guardians engaging in their child’s learning, supporting and collaborating, and all of us, as a team, doing what’s best for kids daily. Our student focused approach and our guiding coalition with our “all means all” mentality proves to create positive student outcomes including both high academic achievement and social emotional growth and success for all. We plan to continually commit to student learning and celebrate our many accomplishments throughout the year.
We’re excited to launch this year’s theme: H.A.P.P.Y. – Have A Productive and Positive Year! This theme embodies our commitment to creating a joyful and engaging learning environment where students, staff, parents, and our entire community come together to support one another. By working as a united Wolf Pack, we’ll foster a culture where everyone can contribute, grow, and thrive. Let’s embrace each day with optimism, determination, and the shared goal of making this year our most productive and positive one yet!Below you will find some important information to start our year out safely and successfully:
Meet the Teacher Night:
Our Meet the Teacher Night will be held on Thursday, July 31, from 4:30-6:00 p.m. Class lists will be posted on the fence out front of the school. Kona Ice will also be in attendance. Don’t forget to stop by our Chaparral PTO booth to see how you can support our students throughout the year! Please note, there is construction occurring at the bus bay parking lot on southwest side of the school during Meet the Teacher night. Please park in the front lot.Arrival at School:
The first day of school for students is Monday, August 4, 2025. The gates will open at 8:00 a.m. and students will go directly to their classrooms. We will have plenty of staff around campus to ensure students get to where they need to be. Parents are welcome to walk their student to their class on the first day of school. Starting Tuesday, August 5, all parents/guardians will be required to get a visitor’s badge through the front office to be permitted through the gates and on campus.
Parents have the option to park and walk their children up to the gates or drive through the drop-off lane. If you are coming through the drop-off lane, please allow one of our staff members to open your car door and assist your child out of the car. Parents need to remain in their cars and all students should exit from the passenger sides of the vehicles to keep children safe as well as keep the car line moving. Thank you for your assistance with this.Dismissal:
Dismissal time is at 3:15pm each day except Wednesday when students are released at 1:45pm. It is important to be on time to pick up your children. At Meet the Teacher Night, please inform your child’s teacher how your children will be getting home each day.
Again, parents have the option to park and walk up to the gates to pick up their children or drive through the drop-off lane. Please be aware of all the posted NO PARKING SIGNS along the streets around the school. We are in the middle of the community, and it is important to only park where allowed. This allows our school neighbors to safely pull in and out of their driveways, as well as keep the traffic moving smoothly.Parking Procedures:
We are asking that all families please pull through the lane, rather than stopping on the streets to drop their child off. Additionally, we please ask that you use our new parking lot, separate from the pick-up/drop-off lane, which will allow you to avoid any traffic and will allow you to park and walk to campus with your child with ease. Please see the flow of traffic map for your convenience.
Parent Square:
We are excited to introduce to you our new, district-adopted two-way communication tool, Parent Square. Parent Square allows you to get out dials, texts, emails, newsletters, flyers and allows easy chats with all staff. It is important for you to utilize this tool to feasibly communicate with your child’s teacher, easily update the office with attendance excusals, get important information each week and in the case of an emergency, this is the tool in which you will be notified. Class Dojo will not be utilized for the 2025-2026 school year. Parents and guardians who have educational rights will be granted permissions to the platform and all will receive further information during Meet the Teacher Night or the first week of school on how to download, navigate and use the app!
New Cell Phone Policy:House Bill 2484 states that all personal cell phones, smartwatches, and any personal or school-issued devices are not to be on or out during school hours outlined by the first bell to the last bell. Students bringing personal devices will be asked to turn devices off and be placed in backpacks, including smartwatches. Students will be able to ask for permissions to utilize the school office phone to contact you and you may contact your child via the school office as well to relay any necessary information. All parents and guardians will be provided a copy of this new law and school policy will go into effect the first day of school. Please make sure you read the Parent-Student Handbook in full on this new law and policy via Parent Vue.
Kidspace (Before and After-School Care):
If you are needing before or after school care for your child, please visit https://wesdschools.ce.eleyo.com/ and register your child online. Space is very limited on our campus and tends to fill up quickly.
Office Hours:
The Chaparral office is open from 7:45am-4:15pm daily except Wednesdays when the office is open until 3:15pm. Each Wednesday we have early dismissal with a dismissal time of 1:45 p.m.

exitosamente:Noche para Conocer a los Maestros:
Nuestra Noche para Conocer a los Maestros será el jueves, 31 de julio de 4:30 - 6:00 p.m. Las listas de las clases serán publicadas en el cerco al frente de la escuela. ‘Kona Ice’ también estará presente. ¡No olviden visitar el puesto de nuestro PTO de Chaparral para ver cómo pueden apoyar a nuestros estudiantes a lo largo del año! Favor de notar, que se está llevando a cabo un proyecto de construcción en el estacionamiento de la bahía del autobús en el lado suroeste de la escuela durante la noche de Conocer a los Maestros. Favor de estacionarse en el estacionamiento del frente.Llegada a la Escuela:
El primer día de clases para los estudiantes es el lunes 4 de agosto, 2025. Los portones se abrirán a las 8:00 a.m. y los estudiantes irán directamente a sus salones de clase. Tendremos suficiente personal en toda la propiedad escolar para asegurar que los estudiantes lleguen a donde deben estar. El primer día de clase los padres pueden acompañar a sus estudiantes a sus salones. Comenzando el martes, 5 de agosto, se les requerirá a todos los padres/tutores obtener una insignia de visitantes en la oficina principal para que se les permita pasar por los portones a la propiedad escolar. Los padres tienen la opción de estacionarse y caminar con sus hijos hasta los portones o conducir a través del carril de dejar a los estudiantes. Si vienen por el carril de dejar, favor de permitirle a uno de los miembros de nuestro personal abrir la puerta de sus vehículos y ayudar a sus hijos a salir de los vehículos. Los padres deben permanecer en sus vehículos y todos los estudiantes deben salir de los vehículos por el lado del pasajero para mantener a los niños seguros al igual que mantener la fila de vehículos en movimiento. Despido:
La hora de salida es a las 3:15 p.m. todos los días, excepto los miércoles, cuando los estudiantes salen a la 1:45 p.m. Es importante llegar a tiempo para recoger a sus hijos. En la Noche de Conocer a los Maestros, favor de informarle a los maestros de sus hijos cómo sus hijos llegarán a casa cada día.
Una vez más, los padres tienen la opción de estacionarse y caminar hasta los portones para recoger a sus hijos o conducir por el carril de recoger. Si vienen por el carril de recoger, favor de permitirle a uno de los miembros de nuestro personal abrir la puerta de sus vehículos y ayudar a sus hijos a subir a los vehículos. Los padres deben permanecer en sus vehículos y todos los estudiantes deben ingresar a los vehículos por el lado del pasajero para mantener a los niños seguros al igual que mantener la fila de vehículos en movimiento. Favor de estar pendientes de todas las SEÑALES DE NO ESTACIONARSE publicadas a lo largo de las calles alrededor de la escuela. Estamos en el centro de la comunidad y es importante estacionarse solo donde esté permitido. Esto permite que nuestros vecinos de la escuela entren y salgan de las entradas para sus vehículos de manera segura, así como también mantener el tráfico en movimiento sin problemas.Procedimientos para el Estacionamiento:
Durante el verano, nuestro estacionamiento estuvo bajo construcción creando un nuevo y mejorado estacionamiento para mejorar el flujo del tráfico, aumentar lugares para estacionarse, mejorar prácticas de seguridad y disminuir la necesidad de estacionarse en la calle durante el tiempo de recoger y dejar. Nuestro carril de dejar y recoger podrá alojar el doble de la cantidad de vehículos, permitiendo que el proceso de recoger y dejar sea mucho más rápido para ustedes y sus hijos. Pedimos que todas las familias manejen por el carril en vez de pararse en las calles para dejar a sus hijos. Además, les pedimos que por favor usen nuestro nuevo estacionamiento, separado del carril de recoger/dejar, lo cual les permitirá evadir cualquier tráfico y les permitirá estacionarse y caminar a la propiedad escolar con tranquilidad con sus hijos. Apreciamos su comprensión de nuestros procedimientos nuevos y mejorados. ¡Estamos seguros que a todos les encantará una vez que lo dominen! Favor de ver el mapa de flujo del tráfico para su conveniencia.
'Parent Square’:
Estamos emocionados de presentarles nuestra nueva herramienta adoptada por el distrito de comunicación bilateral, ‘Parent Square’. ‘Parent Square’ les permite recibir llamadas automáticas, mensajes de texto, correos electrónicos, boletines escolares, volantes y les permite conversar fácilmente con todo el personal. Es importante que utilicen esta herramienta para comunicarse de manera factible con los maestros de sus hijos, fácilmente actualizar a la oficina con excusas de asistencia, obtener información importante cada semana y en caso de una emergencia, esta será la herramienta utilizada para notificarles. No se utilizará ‘Class Dojo’ para el año escolar 2025-2026. ¡Se les dará permiso a la plataforma a los padres y tutores quienes tienen derechos educativos y todos recibirán información adicional durante la Noche de Conocer a los Maestros o durante la primera semana de clases cómo descargar, navegar y usar la aplicación!
Nueva Política de Teléfono Celular:
El Proyecto de la Ley de la Cámara de Representantes 2484 declara que todos los teléfonos celulares personales, relojes inteligentes y cualquier dispositivo personal o asignados por la escuela no deben estar prendidos o a la vista durante las horas escolares indicados por la primera campana hasta la última campana. Se les pedirá a los estudiantes que traigan dispositivos personales apagarlos y mantenerlos en las mochilas, incluyendo los relojes inteligentes. Los estudiantes podrán pedir permiso para utilizar el teléfono de la oficina escolar para comunicarse con ustedes y ustedes también pueden comunicarse con sus hijos por medio de la oficina escolar para compartir cualquier información necesaria. A todos los padres y tutores se les proveerá una copia de esta nueva ley y la política escolar entrará en vigor el primer día de clases.
