Attendance
Parents/guardians are responsible for notifying the school by calling 602- 896-5811. Parents must state the reason for the absence. Reasons must be specific; for example, stomachache, respiratory infection, headache, etc. Non-illness reasons must also be specified; e.g., vacation, death in family, no transportation, etc. Specific reasons for absences are needed as all absences are coded. Absences without notification from the parent are unexcused and considered truancy

Before/After School Care
KidSpace, before- and after-school programs are high quality, developmentally appropriate programs for kindergarten through sixth grade children. KidSpace is a fee-based program supported by the tuition paid by parents, subsidies from government agencies such as DES and grants, and are operated by employees of the Washington Elementary School District. The KidSpace program operates under specific health and safety regulations as designated by the Arizona Department of Health Services (DHS) and meet very specific licensing regulations. Please contact the KidSpace program at 602-896-5858 for additional information on fees and registration.

Dress Code
Uniforms are not required, however, students must adhere the dress code.

Nutrition
Breakfast and lunch are free for all students. Breakfast is served in the classroom each morning. Lunches are served daily in the cafeteria.

ParentVUE
All parents and guardians have a ParentVUE account that can be used to access important information about their student such as grades and attendance. Parents/guardians will need an activation key to log on for the first time. You can obtain an activation key by visiting the school office and bringing a photo ID. Student Drop-Off and Pickup

Transportation
Bus transportation is provided based on the student's home address. Bus routes are available online by clicking here. Students may also walk or ride bicycles to school. Students who ride bicycles must secure bicycles in the bike rack; walk bicycles on school grounds and in crosswalk; and avoid taking bikes through the parking lots and bus lane. The school will not assume responsibility for lost or damaged bicycles. Skateboards and scooters are not permitted.

Visiting Campus
All campus visitors must report to the office, sign in and get a visitor badge. Please wear your badge where it will be visible and return it to the office when you have concluded your visit.
