Desert Foothills Junior High’s Purple Star designation reflects our commitment to serving military-connected students and their families. As a Purple Star School, DFJH provides:
- Trained Staff: Over 70% of our staff completed professional development focused on supporting highly mobile and military-connected students.
- Dedicated Point of Contact: A designated staff member is available to assist military families with enrollment, transition needs, and campus support.
- Student Ambassador Program: New military-connected students are paired with peers who help them acclimate to our campus community.
- Military Family Resources: Our website includes a dedicated hub with information on enrollment, counseling support, community services, and military-specific resources.
- Annual Recognition Event: Each year, Desert Foothills hosts a school-wide activity to honor military service members and celebrate our military families.
