HonorHealth and Sprouts Create Outdoor Learning Lab at Desert View

Nearly 100 volunteers from HonorHealth and Sprouts Farmers Market  transformed a portion of Desert View Elementary's school yard into an outdoor learning lab, complete with garden beds, plants and interactive learning features. HonorHealth and Sprouts each contributed $5,000 for project supplies and Sprouts invested an additional $20,000 to have the organization Out Teach bring their learning model to the project, which focuses on the subjects of nutrition, math, science and language arts. More than half of the materials for the garden were sourced from local Sunnyslope small businesses, including Preach Landscape and Building Supply and Heldt Lumber. Desert View hosted an official ribbon cutting ceremony with representatives from HonorHealth, Sprouts and WESD. Thank you to our amazing community partners for making this garden possible! We appreciate your support and thank you for helping the WESD promote health and nutrition! #WESDFamily
