Let your child know that his or her education is a family priority.
Encourage your child to maintain daily routines such as finishing homework and getting a good night's sleep.
Check the alarm clock every night to ensure it is set to go off at the correct time and that it is turned on.
Make sure you are up early enough to get your child off to school on time.
Arrive 10 minutes before the first bell to ensure your child is seated when class starts. Being late can disrupt the entire class.
Do not enable your child by allowing unexcused absences. Keep in mind, complaints of a stomach ache or headache can be a sign of anxiety and not a reason to stay home.
Try to schedule non-urgent related medical appointments and extended trips when school is not in session.
If your child refuses to go to school, do not hesitate to ask for help from the school.
Offer praise to your child for school tasks well done, including good attendance.
