Health Services
The Health Services Department is committed to WESD's greatest assets - its students, staff, and visitors. Thus, each of the 32 WESD schools and the NBA program employs a caring individual to maintain and promote the health and safety of each person on its campus.
Health Services should be well integrated into the school day with minimal disruption of classroom time. The components of health services may include:
- Hearing and vision screenings, referrals, and follow-ups
- Communicable disease management
- Collection and compliance monitoring of immunization data
- Promoting a safe and healthy learning environment
- First Aid care
- Attending to illnesses and injuries
- Completing state reports for mandated health information
- Child abuse reporting
- Accurate, timely and complete documentation of all activities.
- Communicates with various departments or agencies health information related to student academic performance
