Boys Basketball

Tryouts are typically in mid-October.  Games begin in November.  Each Middle School has a 7th Grade Team and an 8th Grade Team.

The Boys' 7th grade and 8th grade Basketball Championship Tournament takes place during the first or second week of December, prior to Winter Break.  Unless a team signs up for an outside tournament, that is the end of their season.

Practices at the Schools

The five Middle Schools participate in hosting each other and playing away at each others schools for a total of 8 regular season games.  

At the end of the season, teams at the five middle schools are seeded into a District Tournament to play for the 7th grade Championship or 8th grade Championship.

Basketball is a tryout sport,  All who wish to play need to tryout prior to the season.  Tryouts are based on skills of passing, shooting, dribbling through traffic, and general game play.  Other factors taken into account during tryouts - grades, behavior, communication, sportsmanship, and good team work.   Typically, teams are made up of 13 athletes. 

Each Middle School has a 7th Grade Basketball Team and an 8th Grade Basketball Team.

Boys' Basketball is highly competitive and there are tryouts.  Having previous experience is helpful for making a team.  Anyone interested should practice the fundamental skills.
