Within the Washington Elementary School District there are five Middle Schools - Cholla, Desert Foothills, Mountain Sky, Palo Verde, and Royal Palm
Currently, the five Middle Schools offer the following sports:
- 7th Grade Girls' Volleyball
- 8th Grade Girls' Volleyball
- 7/8 Grade Boys' and Girls' Cross Country
- 7/8 Grade Girls' Soccer
- 7/8 Grade Boys' Soccer
- 7th Grade Boys' Basketball
- 8th Grade Boys' Basketball
- 7th Grade Girls' Basketball
- 8th Grade Girls' Basketball
- 7/8 Grade co-ed Cheer
7/8 Grade Co-ed Wrestling - No longer offered - unable to find coaches- 7th Grade Boys' Volleyball
- 8th Grade Boys' Volleyball
- 7/8 Grade Girls' Softball
- 7/8 Grade Boys and Girls Track and Field
Purpose:
- To develop sports skills by offering a wide range of opportunities to participate and focus on higher-level instruction.
- To develop the positive values of athletics, including sportsmanship, teamwork, cooperation, and competition.
- To provide as many students as possible the opportunity to participate in activities they enjoy.
- To provide competitive situations preparing student athletes for the transition to the High School level.
- To build school pride and provide leadership opportunities to student athletes.
