About Our School

All schools in the Washington Elementary School District are committed to achieving excellence for every child, every day, every opportunity. Tumbleweed Elementary School is a pre-kindergarten through sixth grade public school nestled on approximately 17 acres of land between Cactus Road and Peoria Avenue. Today, the 27-year-old facility provides myriad school programs and activities to meet the needs of its students and community. Tumbleweed's curriculum is fully aligned with State Standards. Tumbleweed provides art, music and PE for all grade levels.

Tumbleweed's mission is to provide relevant, quality education to our students which will enable them to participate successfully in the changing world. In pursuit of this mission, Tumbleweed will seek innovations that encourage excitement for learning, create a learning environment characterized by caring and trust and help each child develop to his/her fullest potential, and provide opportunities that help students meet the challenges of change.

Site Council Membership
Council CompositionSite Councils function as school-based leadership groups. They are charged with the responsibility of ensuring that individuals who are affected by the outcome of a decision at the school site have an opportunity to provide input into the decision-making process as mandated by Arizona Revised Statute 15-351.
