About Our School

All schools in the Washington Elementary School District are committed to achieving excellence for every child, every day, every opportunity. Richard E. Miller Elementary School's curriculum is fully aligned with State Standards. The school provides art, music and PE for all grade levels. Richard E. Miller Elementary School offers a wide range of services for students and parents including gifted, special education, integrated instruction and family-oriented activities. In addition, a “Buddy Program” is implemented across grade levels and enables classes throughout the school to participate in cooperative and peer-tutoring activities. We believe that it is the responsibility of the school to challenge all students to their fullest potential. At Richard E. Miller, we are also committed to working with parents to ensure that our students are not only prepared academically, but socially as well. Our school also offers the CHOICE Magent program for students at every grade level. The CHOICE program offers Core Knowledge curiculum and promotes parent, student and teacher involvement that will foster high school readiness. The CHOICE program is a joint magnet program between Richard E. Miller and Royal Palm Middle School. |

Richard E. Miller students attend Royal Palm Middle School and either Sunnyslope, Cortez or Washington High Schools.

Site Council Membership
|
|
Council CompositionSite Councils function as school-based leadership groups. They are charged with the responsibility of ensuring that individuals who are affected by the outcome of a decision at the school site have an opportunity to provide input into the decision-making process as mandated by Arizona Revised Statute 15-351. Meeting DatesRichard E. Miller Site Council meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. The PTO meets right immediately after the Site Council at 6:30 p.m. |

Richard E. Miller now has the CHOICE Magnet Program in every classroom. The Core Knowledge program is utilized in social studies and science, in addition to Arizona State Standards. Look for many community events celebrating the academic success of our students. |
