About Our School

All schools in the Washington Elementary School District are committed to achieving excellence for every child, every day, every opportunity. Desert View Elementary School's curriculum is fully aligned with State Standards. Desert View serves a diverse population of preschool through sixth graders through an effective, traditionally organized format that emphasizes proficiency in basic skills, yet addresses the development of critical thinking through a variety of instructional strategies to meet the needs of all our students. Our various resource support teams specialize in assisting students with unique learning needs, those who are gifted, and those with limited English acquisition. Art, music and PE are provided for all grade levels. We encourage all students to take pride in their school to develop strong leadership and citizenship skills to assist them in school and as they grow into adulthood.

Our Mission
Desert View will be noted for its focus on learning in a positive, safe, educational environment in which there is the following: collaborative decision-making with support from all constituents, strong leadership from all components of the organization, articulated curriculum, continuous evaluation and communication for student progress, effective professional development and consistent communication.
