About Our School

All schools in the Washington Elementary School District are committed to achieving excellence for every child, every day, every opportunity. Cactus Wren Elementary School's curriculum is fully aligned with State Standards. Cactus Wren provides an effective K-6 educational foundation. All students are considered special and all staff and students uphold multicultural respect. Special needs programs address academic learning differences, emotional disabilities, speech and language disabilities, and gifted in both resource and self-contained settings. Art, music and PE are provided at all grade levels. We are committed to the belief that each student must be afforded the opportunity for maximized growth academically, socially, and in developing personal responsibility.

Site Council Membership
Council CompositionSite Councils function as school-based leadership groups. They are charged with the responsibility of ensuring that individuals who are affected by the outcome of a decision at the school site have an opportunity to provide input into the decision-making process as mandated by Arizona Revised Statute 15-351.


Meeting DatesThe Cactus Wren Site Council meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 3 p.m.
