On May 27, the Washington Elementary School District honored its 2009-2010 retirees at an appreciation reception. The theme of the event was "You're the Star," and each retiree was given a gift of appreciation for his or her years of service to the District.
Superintendent Dr. Susie Cook and Governing Board President Tee Lambert both spoke to the retirees expressing their gratitude for everyone's commitment to the District. Washington Education Foundation President, Virginia Ptuyac, also spoke to the group and conveyed her thanks to all of the retirees.
The reception not only included honoring the retirees, but entertainment. Joseph Bingham, a former Abraham Lincoln Traditional School student and violinst, performed with the help of his father, Steve.
Congratulations and thank you to our retirees!
