The goal of the WESD Technology Training Department is to improve instructional methodologies through the integration of technology in order to enhance student learning. We provide instruction to District employees in the use of all adopted software and hardware. Training opportunities are offered at the Administrative Center in the Zuni Computer Lab and at individual school sites by request. All of our training classes are open to parents and patrons in the WESD community.
Technology Training Department offerings include classes in:
Microsoft Word - Word Processing
Microsoft Excel - Spreadsheets
Microsoft PowerPoint - Presentations
Microsoft Publisher - Desktop Publishing
Synergy Student Information System and Grade Book
SuccessMaker and ThinkCentral Teacher Resources
SMART Board Interactive Whiteboard
- Teacher Website Design and Maintenance
Our classes are usually two hours in length and typically begin at 4:30 p.m. to allow teachers at late release schools to attend. School staff can request custom training to occur at their school in the time frame of their choice. Each class begins with instruction and demonstration of essential skills and allows participants time to practice their new skills. Certified staff members taking technology training classes may earn hours towards state re-certification and/or movement on the District salary schedule.
